Reimbursement for false information on CarGurus site?

Asked by Derrick Nov 02, 2018 at 11:32 AM about the 2015 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 4WD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

CarGurus showed that there was 1 accident reported on a vehicle I was looking
at. Because of this, I paid the $19.99 to get the AutoCheck. The AutoCheck
came back showing no accidents. Will CarGurus reimburse me due to the false
information on the website?

The information is not necessarily false, nor would it be intentional. Not all accidents get reported to all data bases. Apparently CarGurus's source received information of an accident, but AutoCheck did not. I would guess there was an accident. And consider many body shops buy banged up cars at the car auctions, fix them up, resell them without ever reporting the accident to the insurance company data base. It "flew under the radar" so to speak. It could have even been a clerical transcribing numbers, etcetera. See what CarGurus says.

Read the Terms and Conditions but I seriously doubt that CG's has ANY responsibility at all for what is in ads or on car reports generated by other parties.
