Is your cam correlation at -2 to 2 degrees on your distributor? Do you have a CEL light to check codes? Also sometimes the spider injection system goes bad on these. Here's a part number ac delco 217-3029 for the 5.7 v8. There are other brands that are similar but make sure you verify your fuel trims are decent as well. Anything below -10% on fuel trims is a rich condition which you could be experiencing.
