1998 gmc suburban 4wd - when I first start it up it
has a rattle low down. The rattle goes away when
it's warmed up. ? Main bearing?

A rattle low down (more like a thump or a knock) could be worn rod bearings.

If the rattle goes away it might be piston slap which is pretty common. How many miles on this engine?
