Converting standard 3.5 to 3.5 EcoBoost

Asked by Jeff62_ Sep 05, 2019 at 11:45 PM about the 2015 Ford Explorer Limited 4WD

Question type: General

Can you convert a standard 3.5 Ford V6 to an EcoBoost by adding the twin
turbo chargers? If not,  can you replace the 3.5 with a 3.5 EcoBoost in a 2015
Limited?

No. The conversion would be cheaper (a lot) if you sold your car and bought an Ecoboost car.

Cheaper to sell your car and buy the eco boost one. The setup in the eco boost is totally different. The wiring, the computer, the engine block does not have the ports to oil the turbos. Cooland hoses are different. In short it’s a different engine than the regular 3.5
