transfer case making a knock

A few weeks ago I put my suburban in 4hi on snow
packed roads an when I slowly started going every
few feet it would make a pop then same thing in
4lo an it never done that before till then an I
haven't put it back in 4 wheel drive since then....
What could it be? I need to get it fixed

Check the fluid in you transfer case low oil will cause excessive wear and you won't know it till you try 4WD
