Transmission question

Asked by Blue1982 Nov 04, 2020 at 03:35 AM about the 1999 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr SLT 4WD SUV

I literally just pulled in to my house from a
late night drive, went to reverse and i heard a
whinging noise and i couldn't reverse. I went
around the block to see what was up and it
appeared to not want to shift. I haven't
checked the fluid yet but could it be a strong
possibility that my transmission went out?
