Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My hyundai dealer quoted me $280.00
dollars to maintenance service my
transmission at 54,000 miles. I baby the car,
I hace no issues. Why is the price so high?
And can I get a transmission shop to do it?
Just seems like a really high price to me for
a tranny filter and oil change? HELP?

Pay a little extra and have the dealership do it. The fluid is expensive and they have an expensive machine that needs to be paid for. Taking it to a transmission shop or a quick lube place may be asking for trouble. The dealership knows best, usually.

You will get differing opinions on this, but the dealerships always know what is best for your vehicle. Sometimes they are more expensive, but a trusted dealership can be a great friend to your vehicle.
