How do I install a transmission cooler on a 2014 Ram 1500 SLT?

Asked by David Jul 27, 2020 at 01:24 PM about the 2014 RAM 1500 SLT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2014 RAM 1500 that has a tranny that overheats under major load I
am almost towing at capacity and the transmission even went into limp mode
and has hit 250 degrees with the digital dashboard gauge pegged at hot.

I checked and there isn't a cooler in front of the radiator. There is only an A/C
condenser.

You can purchase an aftermarket one, and install it in front of the Ac condenser or radiator. and splice into the trans cooler lines. Pretty straight forward. Check sumitracing, they have a few to pick from and an install kit.
