Uconnect update

Asked by Yellowkatt Nov 14, 2019 at 05:24 PM about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: General

My nav system does not work
properly. I does not seem to
recognize where I am on the map.
I did the radio reset and that didn't
work. I did the system reset using
hit and cold buttons. And when it
came on the navigation was gone
until I reset the radio again. Then
the nav worked for a day or so
and then lost my location. I went
to the uconnect site and there is a
software update. I loaded it to a
thumb drive but when I plug it into
the Jeep. 2014 Cherokee limited.
It says software not supported. I
checked my version and it is 17.
Something and the new one is 18.
Something. Anyone have this
happen? Can I do the update
"wirelessly" ? If so how? Or what
can I do about the comparability
issue?

I am having the exact same issue with my navigation, it started slowing the beginning of November. y clock won't even sync with the correct time anymore either. I am on software 16.16.13 and when i looked at the update it said it had to be done at the dealership. Called Dealership and they said the only way to update it is pay $150 or something. I am not even sure if that would fix the issue. It just doesn't make sense how the navigation just randomly stopped working. Have you figured anything out?

Yes I figured it out. My software was 17 something. I had a friend help me download the update on a USB and I did the update and it worked after. Funny thing is when I searched on line about it. It says my update was already done. There was a bulletin that said Chrysler was mailing out USB drives with the update on it. A week later I got it in the mail. Better late than never I guess. But if they are mailing them out for free. Why would the dealer charge for it? You should call Chrysler's customer care and ask that.
