New torque converter low rpm no acceleration on hills

Asked by Keizer245 Feb 08, 2018 at 05:25 AM about the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just took my van to the dealership about a month
ago for shifting problems, they change the torque
converter before this the rpm on idling where
about 1000rpm speed with no foot on the gas  at
7mph, now with the new tc idling is 500rpm, reach
4mph very slowly, and when stopped on a hill and
let go the brake stays put for about 1 second and
then goes backwards until i press the gas, there is
no problem driving on streets or highway

The idle is to low it should idle at about 800 rpm's , Take it back to the dealership and have them adjust the idle, they didn't do something right They probably charged you 1500 to put a converter in

I think I would rather walk out of death valley if the dealership was my only option ,
