Steering wheel issue

Asked by Guru94X9ZD Sep 11, 2020 at 09:58 AM about the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I heard something break in my steering wheel this morning.  The steering
hesitated a little and I hear other pieces of plastic moving when I steer.  I found
a light green piece of plastic on the driver floor when I parked.  What could this
be?

Something internal probably came apart , directional cam maybe , make sure the air bag is disabled if you decide to take it apart

I looked at lunch at the steering column and saw the piece that the plastic came off of. It is a green plastic sleeve that goes around the steering column. I was able to spin it around the shaft.
