Gas smell

My 09 Wrx  puts off a slight gas odor in the car and I can't find anything leaking.
Could it be the A.C. sucking it in from exhaust ?

The exhaust is not blowing out gas and the AC is not sucking it in...there is a a large canister filter located near you gas tank and that could be faulty, I would look at this as your first step..
