Cruise control will not work

The cruise control won't work on my 2003 subaru
wrx. Haven't checked to see if the micro switch is
good or not but I still have the rubber stopper in the
clutch pedal that makes a good contact with the
plunger for the switch. The light in the button to
turn on the cruise control comes on when
depressed so I don't think it's a fuse. Is there any
other things it could be if the micro switch is good
?
