2014 Escape Steering Wheel Lock

Question type: General

Have 2014 Titanium. Had to be
towed and tow company
wrapped seat belt around
wheel to keep it straight. He
stated the 14 escape had no
wheel lock. I noticed on both
sides of the column , if you turn
the wheel, you can see 2
recessed wedge shaped teeth.
I'm assuming these are
suppose to somehow pop out
and lock the wheel but cannot
figure out how and no mention
in manual.

Don't know about wheel lock, but page 181 of your manual says never allow sling-type tow truck. Use either flatbed or front wheels raised on platform and rear on dolly

Yes I knew the tow procedure. It put on flatbed but wheels are still straightened and locked in most all tow situations. Im assuming the escort does not have wheel lock.

Is the wheel not locked in place anyway when the ignition key is removed?
