I dont know what transmission my 1985 Pontiac
firebird has. Its hooked to a 2.8 v6 and I'd like to
drop in a 350 but I doubt it could take the power.
Plus I dont know if it will even bolt up.

Look for a metal tag on the side of the transmission. That will tell you. Hope that helps! Jim

I doubt if the car had anything but a low level automatic or T-5 manual and they will not take the power generated by a 350. Look at swapping both the engine and the trans. In 85, the 350 was an available power plant.
