1989 F-150 AOD Transmission

Asked by GuruX27Z7 Nov 15, 2018 at 07:15 PM about the 1989 Ford F-150 S Standard Cab SB

Question type: Car Customization

I just recently bought a 302 EFI, with a AOD transmission from a 1989 ford F-
150P.U. I want to put it in a 1964 Ford Falcon, what kind of problems will I
encounter? Is it easier to switch it over to a carburated motor, or leave it EFI? I
do have the complete wiring harness, to include the fuse block.

As long as you have the wire harness and computer, should be no problem, outside of making some adapters and mounts to hold it all, the big hurdle may be the antitheft code in the ECU. There are companies that make custom wire harnesses with aftermarket engine computers stripped of security code to run most any engine in a hot rod setup.
