I have issues with my 1989 ford F150 not starting.

Asked by Jeannine Aug 10, 2016 at 09:42 AM about the 1989 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had electrical issues that last several weeks.  The ac and turn signals
quit working and then the other day at work after I turned it off, the gauges
stopped working, and it would not start.  The horn and flashers work and the
starter turns.  I have checked the fuses and all are good. Any suggestions?

Check the battery cables first. They need to be absolutely clean and free of corrosion. Secondly, I would remove and reinsert all the relays located in the relay fuse box. Maybe a corroded connection is the issue. Check all the grounds also as they need to be clean and tight. Always start with the obvious simple stuff when troubleshooting and work up from there.
