Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just inherited a 1989 F-150 Straight 6.  Read the manual and still can't figure out dual tank selector switch.  It's a toggle type, just to the left of the steering column, marked F (Front) on the top and R (Rear) on the bottom.  Is pushing the F flush to the panel (pushing out the R) mean the front tank is being used?  Sorry to ask such a silly question, but I don't know who else to go to.  Thanks very much.

I would think f,is front tank, which would be up,and r is rear tank, which would be down,
