Tail Lights and Dash Lights don't go on

Asked by GuruHJD7K Aug 13, 2019 at 04:19 PM about the 1986 Ford F-150 STD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1986 F150. Strangers told me my tail lights weren't working. My dash lights quit about a month earlier. Bulbs look fine and I replaced the headlight switch after checking the fuses. Nada.

Did you check those two fuses? Also, use a test light and check voltage at fuses. Always check voltage and grounds. My wiring diagrams for that model year, aren't very good.

I have a 91 and the headlight dimmer control switch is on the floorboard check it for a short where the two wires plug into it.
