Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand
Cherokee Ecodiesel. How can I
get FCA to cover a new radio? The
Uconnect update has failed!! I
know shocking! Now it is stuck in
a loop to insert usb and attempt
to update. Killed my battery and
now have it on a battery tender.
We haven't driven it in over 8
days. Dealership says $250 to do
the update and if it fails another
$1,000 for a new radio!! The radio
worked fine until we had it
serviced for the diesel emission
update. Now this!!??

take your battery cables off and hold the pos and neg cable together for 30 seconds and then get back

Saturday I noticed the battery was fully charged. I decided to move the Jeep and the Uconnect prompted to insert the USB. So I did and the update finally went through. It's been 3 days and the radio, bluetooth and infotainment/uconnect system is now working. It has the correct version on the display. Not sure how or what was different? But I did get an email about an Uconnect update for the Nav system at a cost or $99 for the Jeep and my Ram. Coincidence??
