89 Octane won't hurt it, but if you are only getting 7.5 mpg it may need a repair or tune up. 89 Octane will likely not help the fuel mileage.

I had a recent tune up. New spark plugs pcv valve air filter oil change with very little improvement. Yesterday I purchased Sea Foam motor treatment and the salesman said mpg should improve at about half a tank. I hope so. The car runs very well but I'm having transmission problems Thank you
