Hi. I have an '88 Lincoln Mark vii with the 5.0 H.O. engine. The hydraulic brake booster went out, and I no longer have power brakes. My mechanic doesn't want to touch it ; is there any hope to fix?

Thank you for your response. I'm not sure if it's the accumulator, or the hydraulic pump. I'm not a mechanic; so I'm trying to figure out where to bring the to; to possibly fix it?
