My 93 Dodge Stealth RT dies after about 20 minutes

Asked by Raymond Jun 06, 2018 at 06:47 PM about the 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought this car for my son (his choice).  Drove fine on the test drive.  After
about 20 minutes and almost home, the engine just died at about 20 MPH.  I
thought I heard a clicking sound just prior, so I did some research and replaced
the FMI.  Unfortunately, the problem still exists and now the car won't even idle.
Any suggestions?  Limited testing capability on my part...

Ok, so got this solved. Turned out to be a combination of two things: ECU and ICS. The ECU took care of the intermittent shutting off. However, once we fixed that, the car wouldn't idle after reaching running temperature. Replaced the ICS which was a cheap and easy swap.
