93 base Dodge Stealth wont start

Asked by brandon420x May 16, 2013 at 03:28 PM about the 1993 Dodge Stealth FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i recently bought a 93 stealth that would start but die if you let off the gas, we checked compression and it was all low so we did a pass on the heads and a valve job and cleaned both of them put them back on and compression is back to normal but the car wont start. it cranks fine but wont start I don't know if there is something with the heads that aren't quite on time, i thought i read something about having to re-do timing marks when you get new heads or something but the spark plugs are working distributor is set, fuel pump is working starter+battery are good, and injectors are also good it just wont start...

Could you get the OBD-II trouble codes for us please--it's free at most auto parts stores they will send manny, moe or jack out to take a reading..you can buy your own for about twenty bucks...this will tell us whatinahell dude is goin' on now~

First off non ODBII, electronic ignition no distributor if it's the DOHC motor. Could be the Cam or the crank position sensors. If you hook up an analog VOM meter to ground & pin 25 under the dash in the white connector block and read the meter sweeps to get the trouble code. Look at procedure at https://stealth316.com/2-diagcodes91-93.htm, good luck
