1994 V6 motor swap

Asked by blue666reaper Sep 23, 2016 at 09:28 AM about the 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I'm getting a V8 from a 2001 Dakota with
the brain, my truck is a 1994 Dakota with 5
speed manual, so my question is can I keep
my transmission? And what might need to
change for this swap to go smooth.

You can't the 2001 uses I think a 518 46RE-RH and the 1994 is a T150103

Ok I wasn't sure thanks. I just got I think it's an 87 Dakota the guy is dropping it off today, it has a v6 like mine so I'm going to use it as a donor truck, what off my motor will be able to be used on this motor? this is a whole truck so it has the tranny but I'd like to keep mine if I can due to the 5speed so I'm keeping fingers crossed that I can transfer a lot of my parts over.
