97 Nissan pickup (hardbody) won't start.

Asked by Jake Oct 14, 2018 at 09:59 AM about the 1997 Nissan Truck XE Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 nissan pickup(automatic) and I can't get it to
start.
Ive changed the starter twice. I had them check the second
starter before I left the parts store.
The battery is older but it wont even start with a jump.

When you turn the key the lights come on but it just clicks.
The clicking is coming from the back of the engine bay on
the passenger side.
Any ideas?

I have this year Nissan Pickup mine is manual. The remote start switch for the Anti-theft device is the clicking that you hear. There's a remote that comes with the key (separate) if you don't have it or maybe it needs to be paired
