Security system; 1988 300ZX

Will the security system on the '88, 300ZX prevent the car from starting?  Mine doesn't start, but the starter is turning fine.  The engine will not fire.

Yes. If activated (attempting to open the doors, hood or rear hatch without the key), the theft warning system will activate the headlights and horn while making it impossible for the starter to operate. To cancel the headlights and horn and make it so the starter operates properly again, unlock the door or hatch with a key.
