No dash panel no headlights cranks but won't start

Turn key instrument panel doesn't respond
gauges don't work headlights won't come on
at all now plus car turns over won't start but
for just a sec panal starts to work gauges
work go to start it will almost start then
gauges quit and back to just cranking
