vin #

Asked by thegoathasarrived Nov 10, 2016 at 12:25 PM about the 1964 Pontiac GTO Coupe

Question type: General

I bought a 1964 GTO to restore but now I question the vin # as a gto. The vin
shows a six cyc motor but I understand that gto all came with v-8. which is in
the vehicle. Vin # is 624m14675. Body tag 64-2227. The body has all of the
correct hood, lights, emblems, grill and no feel in's etc. Did gto sell any six cyc
cars as options.

The GTO was an option on the LeMans, which itself was the top trim level for the Tempest. The Tempest and LeMans came with an inline six as standard. No GTO ever came with a six cylinder engine. Contact PHS(Pontiac Historical Services) with your VIN to get the official original details on your car. Do not use other services for this, as only PHS has the actual data from Pontiac. PHS is the gold standard and ONLY vendor to use. Paperwork from any other vendor is wasted money and any real buyer will insist on PHS docs.

Your Answer:

GTO
