I am having the same issue with my 2007 impala. My bad died overnight a week ago and ever sense it won't start. Bought a new battery and still nothing. The car is dead, key is stuck in ign. and car won't read or engage that it's in park so it stays on ACC mode and the radio won't turn off. So I have to remove the fuse so it won't kill the battery. I've done and checked everything. Next step I think is the BCM (Body Control Module)...sounds like your having the same issue.

had this issue on a 2010 impala a month or so ago and the thing I found was even if you have to put it on a charger, it has to have power for the ignition to switch back to the "off" position.

Im having the same issue on my 2011 Impala... I just bought a brand new battery, was working fine and it died over night.... Key stuck in ignition til I got someone to jump it for me..... was able to get the key out again .... Im begining to think theres more to it then just a dead battery(was brand new).....

did anyone find out the real cause (besides battery), this is happening on my 2013 impala now

Having this issue w/ my 09 Impala. Turn the key and nothing. Acts like there is no power going to the starter. Would wait and try the key again and after a couple try's, it'd fire. Lately though it would lose all power and trap the key in the ignition. Checked the battery and it was good. I disconnected the positive cable for a few minutes and reconnect, it would repower the dash and lights and free the key. It would also start the car too if tried. Now it doing it again taking multiple dis/re connect tries to start the car. I suspect the battery connection (positive) as it looks old and discolored (a brown-like color). I hope this is the cause as would be an easy fix. Wil reply if successful
