Sometimes It Won't Start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When my car won't start, I open the hood, wiggle the thick cable that runs from
the negative battery terminal, and it starts -- every time. Once it's running,
everything is fine. It never stalls. I have had both the battery and alternator
tested - both are fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need to remove, clean and tighten the battery terminal ends. Should be an easy task or a shop could do it in about 10 minutes or less.

I think you have corrosion on the terminal or it is loose. Buy a battery post cleaning tool and clean the battery posts and the cable ends. Use a wrench and make sure the cables are on tight.
