Is the 2012 Beetle as low to the ground as previous models ?

Question type: General

My 2005 Beetle was low to the ground that the oil pan was damaged.  So, I want to know if the 2012
model is that low.

I also have a 2005 beetle and I have also damaged my oil pan, had to have the entire splash guard replaced and my front bumper and fog lights have fallen off four times. The 2005 is now in the shop (for the bumper) and I have a 2012 as a loaner. So far, it does not seem to be riding as low to the ground as the '05 model. The '12 is amazing and I'm considering trading up.

Just looked it up - 2005 4.6" ground clearance vs 2012 5.7" ground clearance

Anyone knows what ground clearance is on 2002 VW New Beetle? Mine is in the shop right now for an unrelated problem
