Car won’t start but cranks

Asked by ToxxicDollie Jul 11, 2019 at 02:24 PM about the 2005 Dodge Neon SXT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When you try to turn the car on it cranks but
won’t turn over. It used to be if you pushed
the accelerator it would turn over. Not the
case today. We replaced spark plugs and
wires, knock sensor, camshaft sensor, fuel
line and after reading a thread on here earlier
we just replaced the IAC. Still won’t turn over.
Battery is new. Tempted to change the
terminal connector since it is slightly
corroded. In the last two weeks we’ve put
about $400+ worth of parts into it. Any ideas
of what could be next?

Spark plugs have been gapped... no change. Starter motors either work or they don't. Wire connecting to the starter motor apparently glows red when trying to start the car. I inherited this POS when the wifey got her new truck... HALP!!!
