Engine Temp. Issues

Asked by 2012TC Nov 18, 2019 at 12:40 AM about the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 T&C is acting strange.  At high speeds the temp is at 1/4 or half way
between normal and ambient and at idle or slow traffic it is at normal wiz 1/2
way mark on the temp gauge.  Can anyone explain what to do.

Since it runs at approximately the right temp at idle but cools down significantly at highway temps....I would suspect a thermostat that may be stuck open (or may even be missing all together, if you do not know the history of the vehicle).
