Dodge engine swap

Asked by Craftsman027 Dec 13, 2017 at 02:45 PM about the 2006 Dodge Durango SXT RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2006 Dodge Durango AWD , base model  , 4.7 V8,
Automatic OD Transmission (engine has bad misfire on
cylinder #1)
I also have a 1987 Dodge W150 4x4, 5.2 V8, Automatic
Transmission , ( carburetor engine )
I would like to put the 1987 318 in place of the bad 4.7 &
leave it carved  - Will the 318 bolt up to the 2006 trans ?
If not,  & I use the 1987 transmission (believed to be
torqueflight 727) with the 318,  will this transmission bolt
up to the 2006 AWD transfercase already in the Durango - I
am not worried about wiring, I have a great ability to do that
part.  Just wanting to know about the bellhousings & t-
cases before pulling apart 2 running/driving trucks to
experiment.  Thank you in advance.
