My engine light come on.  What could this
mean, major problems?

maybe, maybe not. If you take your car to an auto parts store they can scan your cars computer and tell you what trouble code is causing your check engine light to illuminate and the service is or should be free.

Can be anything from a loose gas cap to total component failure. Watch out on these Sonatas, they are known for engine sludge. Go to somewhere like Auto Zone, they will scan the code for free.
