Transmission issue or catalytic converter??

Asked by Ashley May 07, 2015 at 09:23 PM about the 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Our 2012 Nissan has been to 3 Mechanics. The first throwing all codes transmission
related. The 2nd P1722, P0744, P0826, P0868. The third mechanic said throwing codes
related to transmission also. Our car after driving about an hour in the warm weather will
not go past 60 mph and up hills wont get past 45. Makes for a long trip! We aren't sure
what to fix because the mechanics tell us they can't pin point exactly what it is until it is
happening when they have it hooked up to the computer. It never happens during my 35
min commute to work 5 days a week. HELP

It is likely a transmission issue with the codes you have. If you have less than 60,000 miles on the car take it to a dealer. They will replace it under warranty.

THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY ON THAT YEAR. GO TO BBB.COM FILE COMPLAINT EVEN IF ITS ALREADY FIXED. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL DONE.

I know this was a long time ago, but how did you end up fixing the problem? My 2012 is doing the exact same thing. Was it the CVT or the catalytic converter?

Get your Vin call Nissa. And check for recalls..I have a 2006 4x4 Titan ..I changed the O2 a d driver side cat and all spark plugs myself..still seems like it's choking and won't go over 30 mhp...I called Nissan vin Check for recalls for 2006 recalls are on air conditioning motor....fuel level sender and the big one...ECM...which controls all Function if fuel and ect... that would probably explain. My cylinder 5 misfire code and random misfire code as well
