Did you do this with the key in the ignition? If not try that.

I may be mistaken BUT I THINK you have to put the key in the ignition and go back and forth between the run and off position 6 to 8 times. I have no proof just something in the back of my head.

Put the key in the door, and usep it to lock and unlock the doors using the key , and the alarm should turn off. If not, you're just fucked and hella embarrassed from your car causing so much attention to you and making u look like a jackass because you don't know how to turn the anti-theft alarm to your car, off! Damn... That sucks! Good Luck with explaining to the cops that ur not stealing the car, you just don't know how to use your own car! Lol! Just kidding! (The directions above are real and are the only way to turn off the anti-theft alarm system.) Enjoy your newly learned and free information!

****Wouldn't do on any of them listed above. Had:Honking horn, blinking light on left side of mirror, red ;light on right side of instrument panel blinking, would start and run, no dash lights, and after turning off ignition dash would stay charged-showed fuel level-mileage-oil pressure-temp-until I pumped the brakes and discharged the system. Horn honking only bothers my neighbors-so what-I know my horn works and now they do too. ****CURE: Disconnect battery ground (thats the black one near the shock mount for those who don't know). Put one key in ignition, in the on position. Take the second key-you really need to have more than 1 key, (and you may find or have found out why you need extra chipped key's and the cost of a second key will seem cheap compared to what they charge you to open the locked in key vehicle) Then with windows down place second key in passenger door, with it locked. Reconnect battery ground cable and watch your neighbors get pissed off, calls cops, and there again, so what. Step around to passenger door and turn key to the unlock position and count off 10 seconds, DO NOT JUST UNLOCK IT, HOLD IT THERE. Horn quits honking, remove key without relocking door, thank the cop for being so observant about your horn honking, offer him a donut if you have one in your tool box, drive off happy that you did something mechanical and it worked, wave at cop while smiling and cussing him under your breath-the smile is important.

The lock mech needs to be replaced on driver's side door. The unlock switch is not making contact.
