I changed the battery in my key fob 2012 cadillac cts and it won't work

Asked by GuruCKTB6 Feb 27, 2019 at 10:57 AM about the 2012 Cadillac CTS 3.0L AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I changed the battery in the key fob because it wouldn't work one day and it
doesn't work.  If I try and re program it says already recognized and if it's
plugging into the car the car will start but when I pull it out it says no key
detected

Bypass the starter relay and crank while the key is in the on position. This is to force the ecu to communicate. After doing that and making sure the check engine is on you can do the 30 minute key program procedure. Make sure the battery always stays above 12 volts
