2012 Ford Fusion Air Conditioner
Air conditioner will work off and on. At times when the air conditioner is on it
will start blowing out extremely hot air. Ford dealer acts like they don't know
what the problem is. I don't want to pay a lot of money for them to tell me
nothing is wrong.
Try this, listen to the dash slightly right of center if you can here an occasional clicking sound you probably have a bad blend door actuator that actuator moves a door from heat to cool and in between
I had the same thing happen. Keep in mind I know nothing about cars but I was able to find someone who told me the problem.Your temp control And some other stuff having to do with your a/c is located behind the glove compartment. Something (idk what the man said) located next to it causes the control box to get hot and actually causes it to melt. Mine had started working on and off randomly and if I bumped the box it would come on for a few mins and shut back off and had started sparking , I got my boyfriend to look at it and he took it off and it was melted. Apparently this is something that happens to a lot of the 2012 fusions. Another thing that’s common is the power steering will go out and the power steering for these vehicles is electric so it’s about a $1200 fix from what I was told. However, After my power steering had been out for about 3 months I went to crank my car and the battery was dead. I hooked our jump box to the battery and it was like a light show was going on inside my car, everything was flashing and it kept making a clicking noise when I would try to crank it. I unhooked the jump box and hooked it back up again and it crunk up and my power steering started working again. I have no idea what that means or what’s caused it to stop or start back but I would def ask around before paying to have the power steering stuff replaced
There is a recall for three power steering contact dealership. Mine did the second thing and I found out there is a recall for it
I had the same problem. Here's a easy fix. Although this is in our car owners manual under battery, this can be used to fix the ac. Hope this helps you. Because your vehicle’s engine is electronically controlled by a computer, some control conditions are maintained by power from the battery. When the battery is disconnected or a new battery is installed, the engine must relearn its idle and fuel trim strategy for optimum drivability and performance. To begin this process:1. With the vehicle at a complete stop, set the parking brake.2. Put the gearshift in P (Park) (automatic transmission) or the neutral position (manual transmission), turn off all accessories and start theengine.3. Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.4. Allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.5. Turn the A/C on and allow the engine to idle for at least one minute.6. Drive the vehicle to complete the relearning process. •The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles (16 km) or more to relearn the idle and fuel trim strategy.• If you do not allow the engine to relearn its idle trim, the idle quality of your vehicle may be adversely affected until the idle trim is eventually relearned .When the battery is disconnected or a new battery installed, the transmission must relearn its adaptive strategy. As a result of this, the transmission may shift firmly. This operation is considered normal and will not affect function or durability of the transmission. Over time the adaptive learning process will fully update transmission operation to its optimum shift feel. If the battery has been disconnected or a new battery has been installed ,the clock and the preset radio stations must be reset once the battery is reconnected. I think I also turned the temp knob from cold to hot 10 times too. Anyway my ac is always blowing cold now.
