my battery went dead I charged it,but now my engine light stays on in my 2008 Sebring?

What do I do to get the engine light to go off. I was golf to take the negative side off the
battery for 10 seconds reinstall??? Is this correct.

If you simply have a CEL (check engine light) the number of possibilities could go into dozens of problems .... Yes disconnecting the terminal should clear the fault but the same fault will soon reappear if not corrected ... go to Autozone or any number of car parts distributors and they will do a check (for free) with their computer ,, then tell you the problem once they get the problem code

Go to Autozone or similar place and get the code read and post it here. I would not buy any parts based on what the $8.00 per hour parts store help tells you. Also when you get the code, Google can be very helpful.
