Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I noticed some general shaking of the car yesterday. Like someone was
gradually pushing on the back, just a little. Today the car wont start. Just
clicking. Battery? About to go replace it...I opened the hood and this hose was
detached. What is it? Could that be the issue?

That piece is attached to the air box where the air filter is, I don't know what it runs to, but that would not be the cause of the car not starting. The clicking is because of a low battery, but there could be a problem with the alternator also. You should have the battery checked, and once the car is started go and have the charging system checked.
