Have any of you applied addition sound deadening materials to your vehicle? Dynamat is the goto product for stereo applications, what alternatives have you seen or used?

Question type: Car Customization

I am looking to reduce the amount of road noise in our Mini Countryman. I understand that with the dual sun roof
and runflats, it is to be expected. I am not satisfied with that conclusion by the dealership. I recently read that
Champion Motorsport used felt on the backs of their ABS wheel well panels to accomplish this goal. Any thoughts?

I applied dynamat to my 2003 MINI and it did quiet it up a ton but if you are into performance dont do it it added about 100 pounds of weight. Also a pain as all body panels will have to come off the interior to do it right.

Therein lies my concern. The felt option I read about was mention in C/D's article on Champion Motorsports crazy Porsche RSSR build. It might weigh in that 20-25 lbs depending on the density of the felt.
