SAM's Club installed a new battery and now the sound system is stuck off and
is telling me to install a DVD.  The radio worked before the battery was
installed.

Whoops sounds like they didn’t use the preset saver tool before disconnecting main power. So now your going to have to go to the dealer and have them reflash the systems. Runs a hundred bucks in my area.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. If that doesn't work a trip to your local Toyota dealership will be necessary.
