i have a 2011 touring miata

my check engine light comes on then goes off, the convertible lights comes on
too, it drives fine but it sits a lot in garage.

Go get the check engine light scanned for a code. Auto Zone and O'Reillys will scan your OBD for free. Light must be on for any codes to show. Disconnect the negative battery cable, that will reset your light.
