KIA Sportage AWD

Asked by newKia Feb 17, 2016 at 01:20 PM about the 2011 Kia Sportage EX AWD

Question type: General

I recently bought a KIA Sportage.  Until this year I haven't used it in the snow.  When it is in the snow if feels like there is no power with it.  The front wheels often just spin  (tires are still good so it shouldn't be the traction), but has no problem if put in reverse to back up.  Is this common?  Is there something not working with the AWD?

The tires they use are junk, when I bought my 2011 with under 35000 miles on it after the first winter I replaced the tires. I would just slide all over the place. my tires still had a lot of tread on them. The place I bought my tires from said the rubber those tires are made from harden up, they may still look good but they aren't. Take it to a reliable tire center and ask them about it... my local tire place is very reliable, and after taking what they said to heart I bought new tires and haven't had a problem since
