Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My deville keeps showing the codes U1000 and U1016. How do I fix the
problem?

U1000 IS A SPECIFIC CODE THAT REFERS TO A COMMUNICATION FAILURE... THE SECOND CODE IDENTIFIES THE MODULE. IN YOUR CASE THIS IS A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE VCM.. THIS MIGHT BE AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC KEY AND THE CYLINDER LOCK.. YOU MAY NEED TO REPROGRAM THE KEY OR REPLACE THE CYLINDER... YOU SHOULD DISCUSS THIS WITH AN AUTHORIZED DEALER BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS REPAIR YOURSELF. GOOD LUCK... JIM G
