02 benz e55 amg won't start when you turn key

I just went to my mom's house and when I got into
my car to head back the key didn't start the car it
made an ongoing sound as if it was going to start
but it didnt. They key locks and unlocks and turns
on the dash board but doesn't want to turn on the
car. Has anyone experienced this or knows what it
could be? Help!

it turned over but didn't start? or didn't turn over at all? If it just clicked and no starter noise, battery nearly dead. Enough fuel? if all is OK otherwise, jump it and see what happens. Good luck
