Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Does anyone know if they 2006 bmw750li has a
tranny dipstick?

My car has been jerking when I come to a stop (like
I'm being rear ended). it also had a delayed take off
when I began to accelerate but once it takes off
there's a harsh shift from 1st to 2nd gear.

A local bimmer mechanic recommended that I get
a software update or that it may be issues with my
solenoids.

I want to make sure that my issue isn't just the
fact that my transmission fluid is low first because
I noticed the hood of my car gets awfully hot after
being ran only a few minutes.

I took it to a local mechanic that fixes on bimmers. So far we discovered a leak in my transmission pan, so we're about to replace that and then sees if that helps. If not, next we will be doing a transmission software update.
