Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recharged dead battery, now the outside temp indicator says it's minus 39 and the A/C doesn't work.

Did you use a high amp charger or reverse polarity?

No reverse polarity for sure. The charger I used is mostly automatic, but it has a reconditioning setting and I think it uses a higher amp output. I used this setting after the first attempt to recharge the battery only produced an 11 volt charge.

I would check your fuses and hope that the problem is just a bad fuse.

Low battery voltage could cause things not to work or work properly. 11 volts is very low.

I checked the fuses under the hood (pass. side) and in the trunk above the battery. All good. ??? What else do I need to check?

After the reconditioning process I had 13.1 volts, started it up and found the other problems.

It has now worked itself out and my best guess is as follows: I discovered the dead battery on my way out of town, so it was left in dead state for over a week or more. After recharging the battery, the climate control had reset reset itself to a below -0* setting thereby eliminating the need for A/C. I drove around while watching the climate control numbers count down to 0* then after a minute up to the correct temp and the A/C started working. ( It was just the Climate Control)
